GenXer here. I have been a fan of technology my whole life and was always the first to dive in and check it out. Admittedly, not so much with AI (thanks to Terminator films 😉). I was indifferent to this new shiny toy but read all the articles and discourse on how it would take over for writers and artists, creatives. Then I found out, via The Atlantic article a few weeks ago, that one of my books was pirated and used to train Meta LLMs. I didn't like that. BUT I also understand that I cannot sit back and declare that I will never use AI for anything. So I listened, not as one of the converted, but wanting to understand where I fit here, what are my boundaries, how can I make AI work for me, since I've already donated to one LLM. I haven't decided yet, but this was helpful. Thank you.
For me as a GenXer… AI almost feels like cheating. So I appreciate this podcast! I’m my mother also and can use all the help I can get🤣
You're welcome. I know. We're often suspicious of things. I think it can be cheating if used improperly but you'll eventually pay the piper.

Thanks for the note, Ruth. I can see how your experience would make you want to go all Sarah Connor on AI!
😆 I like what you did there
