Would You Go to Gen X Con?
An in-person event that celebrates the latchkey kids.
Okay, hear me out.
I have an idea stuck in my brain like a splinter in my mind, as Morpheus would say. And I want to run it by you.
I’m calling it Gen X Con. A conference built for and by Gen X.
Imagine being surrounded by smart, interesting people your age who actually speak your language.
There’s an expo hall with brands and products that get us.
Panels and conversations about the stuff we’re dealing with: career pivots, financial stress, dealing with ageism, figuring out what’s next when nobody handed us a map.
And of course — good food, comfy couches, cocktails galore, and dancing to our favorite hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s. Maybe even a live appearance from a classic band.
Would you be in?
I’d love to find out if this is something Gen Xers actually want. And I can think of no one better crowd than the Small Talk community to tell me if I’m crazy — or onto something.
So here’s the ask: Would you take this 5-minute questionnaire and help me figure out if this idea has legs?
No commitment. No ticket sales. Just your honest take on whether this thing should exist.
